Park Rangers provide information to visitors about state, national, or local parks and adjacent areas, explaining regulations, answering questions, and responding to vistor’s needs or complaints. They patrol the park and may be armed while on duty, to ensure public safety. They may conduct search and rescue opoerations or attend to emergencies.They develop and present informative programs about the park’s history. They point out natural features of the park — forest, wildlife, botanical and geological attractions, and note any environmental concerns. They may also present these educational programs in schools or community settings.
