Mechanical Engineer

Mechanical Engineers research, design, evaluate, install and operate a wide range of mechanical equipment – engines, rockets, turbines, steam and gas turbines, nuclear reactors, and solar power systems. They design and develop specialized mechanical devices of all sorts for government and commercial applications. They may serve as consultants. They confer with other engineers and oversee projects -which may be very stressful due to budget and time pressures.Using technical designs, blueprints, and computer schematics and models, they coordinate all aspects of research,, testing, production methods, troubleshooting malfunctions, diagnosing and solving problems until specifications are met and projects are completed.
