Librarians work in many different settings such as public libraries, schools and colleges, research facilities, corporations, museums, and government facilities. They administer the operations relating to library services: ordering books and publications, cataloguing, shelving, and maintaining, materials. They interact with patrons to check books in and out, assist with searches for reference materials, and instruct patrons on using computer skills for library information and procedures. They use book reviews, and patron and faculty recommendations, to select and order print, audio-visual, and other resources.They keep records of circulation and inventory.They may perform more sophisticated research, and analysis, setting up information systems or data bases.
